The Memory Project
The Art Club at the Brentwood Freshman Center participated in The Memory Project. The Memory Project is a non profit organization that provides the opportunity for student artists to create portraits as gifts to orphaned children from all around the world. It allowed our students to use their talents to connect with other children through their art. Many of my art club students felt very connected to the children they were drawing and worked so hard at completing the portraits so that the child they were drawing felt special and proud of their gifts. All of the portraits that were created this year had a green background and you can see one of the children excitingly receiving it in the video below. It was such a rewarding experiencing to share and involve my students with and I look forward to participating again with future students.
